Tenuta San Quirico
Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC
The name of this wine derives from the Italian word 'Nebbia" which literally means fog. Tradition goes that grape picking begins once the first fog appears on the hills of Le Langhe towards the end of October. Nebbiolo is indeed one of the most popular wines of Piedmont. The wine has noble and aristocratic elements. The grapes are thick and small with a distinctive blue shaded red skin, which is ultimately the colour of the wine itself. As the wine ages it acquires a garnet-red tone. The aroma is soft, delicate and somehow reminds one of violets; the taste is slightly tannic, fine and elegant
