Sassaia di Albereto Sangiovese di Toscana IGT
This wine is typical Sangiovese, which however undergoes a lengthy ageing in french oak casks (Allier and Vosges) in line with the tradition of the great noble Tuscan wines. Notes of small red fruits (blueberries, blackberries), with spicy notes due to the wood. It is the ideal companion to any kind of roast meat, game and seasoned cheeses. It is best served at 18-20 degrees centigrade
Vine variety: 100% Sangiovese
Soil: calcareous and poor, mainly limy, marly and rather permeable
Yield per hectare: 6 tons of grapes equal 40 hectoliters of wine.
Wine making process: Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation conducted with innovative techniques and carried out at a controlled temperature
Evolution/Ageing: 4 months in stainless steel vats, 12 months in oak barriques of Slavonic origin, 4 months in cement vats, ageing in bottle before selling
Technical features: alcohol 13,5% by volume
Tasting temperature: 18-20 degrees centigrade
Best served with: roast meat, game and seasoned cheeses.
